Representative HPLC chromatograms of MAA extracts from the green macroalgal species Prasiola crispa. The evaporated extracts were re-dissolved in either pure methanol, distilled water or the HPLC eluent, analyzed on different reversed-phase columns and individual peaks detected at 330 nm. Retention time, maximum absorbance and identification of individual peaks are summarized in Table 1
